Hi, nice to meet you
I’M DOROTHY
…and I’m so glad you’re here. Whether you're looking for EMDR consultation, therapist resources, or just some inspiration, you’re in the right place.
I’ve been practicing as a psychologist for over 15 years and have supported many therapists in building and honing their therapeutic skills. In addition to being an EMDRIA Consultant-in-Training, I also assist with EMDR Basic Training and EMDR in Conjoint Couples Therapy with The Road Less Travelled Counseling Center.
I provide extended and intensive sessions for individuals and couples and I specialize in working with those impacted by trauma, attachment wounds, relationship distress, anxiety, the unique challenges of growing up in an immigrant family, and nervous system dysregulation. I'm committed to ongoing professional development and have completed many advanced trainings.
My approach is
-
Growth happens in the context of safe, connected relationships. I prioritize building a trusting, supportive relationship with you so you can do the same with your clients.
-
I prioritize your unique needs and goals, ensuring that our work together is tailored to what matters most to you.
-
You’ll always find a safe, welcoming space where you can express yourself openly without fear of judgment. This is particularly important to me because I value self-of-the-therapist work, and this is only possible if you feel safe and comfortable sharing with me the areas where you’re unsure or feel shaky about.
-
I don’t believe in jumping straight to solutions. Instead, I help you think through the challenges you're facing, guiding you to discover the answers on your own. Of course, I’ll offer my knowledge when needed, but my goal is to empower you to confidently find solution so that you can independently do so in the future.
-
We’ll work together to figure out what your clients need. While I bring expertise in EMDR, you bring invaluable knowledge of your clients, and together we’ll figure out what they need in each of the phases. We’ll also work together to identify what support you need to increase your confidence in the model.
Consultation
How do I effectively assess a client's readiness for EMDR reprocessing? How can I prepare a client in Phase 2 who can’t visualize? How do I identify and prioritize targets for processing? How do I address blocks that arise during EMDR processing? What do I do when a client becomes overwhelmed during reprocessing? How do I manage my own emotional reactions and countertransference?
Let’s answer these questions together!
Get the support you need to confidently navigate complex cases. Together, we'll build your confidence and help you trust your clinical judgment as we expand your knowledge and skills, taking your EMDR practice to the next level.

THE FUN STUFF
THE FUN STUFF
I created toppers for Brainspotting and EMDR therapists, combining my love for creativity with my passion for mental health. Just like in therapy, small details can make a big impact—whether it’s a thoughtful design or a meaningful touch that adds warmth and personality. Aesthetics matter to me, and when I couldn’t find anything that was both visually appealing and thoughtfully designed, I decided to create my own. These pieces are crafted with care, connection, and a little bit of joy.
